At a time when globalisation has resulted in clients expanding their activities and becoming more international than ever, we have reshaped our organisation with a focus on the firm’s international approach and assisting our clients in their international ventures. We have developed a particular expertise in Portuguese speaking countries such as Mozambique, Angola and Brazil, where VdA has been involved in some of the biggest transactions that have taken place in such markets.
Through VdAcademia we provide our lawyers with a continuous education programme. VdAcademia takes part in knowledge research projects and, through our annual VdAcademia Award, we sponsor and reward legal research in universities in Portuguese speaking countries.
We are the first major Portuguese law firm to create a Pro Bono and Corporate Social Responsibility Programme (CSR). We provide free legal assistance to charity institutions that work in the social, cultural or educational areas. Through this programme we promote better access to justice and quality legal services to institutions that could not afford them.
