Richard Latigo

Richard is a partner at Lex Uganda Advocates and Solicitors. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and all Courts of Judicature.

Richard holds a Bachelor of Laws degree of Makerere University and a post-graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Uganda Law Development Centre.

He is a leading litigation practitioner in Uganda with years of successful court experience and advisory on projects (development and financing) and commercial contracts. He specialises in dispute resolution with an emphasis on civil, commercial law litigation, insurance, and professional liability.

Richard also has experience in land transactions and regularly advises government entities and private clients on land rights; and was a pioneer in undertaking blueprint Resettlement Action Plans in the Albertine region for leading oil companies and wayleaves acquistions. He is recently an associate of the International Rights of Way Association (IRWA) - which is a professional member organization comprised of global infrastructure real estate practitioners.

Prior to joining Lex Uganda, Richard qualified and practiced as a journalist writing for Uganda's leading newspaper and authored and authored articles for several international publications.

When off work, Richard spends a high number of hours reading, running and swimming.
