Success in Partnership: Highlights from the China-Thailand Cross-Border Legal Cooperation Forum

Under the background of a globalized economy, cross-border debt issues have become increasingly prominent, especially in today’s complex and evolving global economic environment. Domestic and international debt recovery has emerged as a critical challenge for legal businesses.

The forum was jointly organized by Seri Manop & Doyle Law Firm and Hylands Law Firm, these two firms have a collaborative history of over 20 years.

The event aimed to foster in-depth exchanges and collaboration between Chinese and Thai lawyers to achieve cross-border integration and mutual growth in the field of debt recovery.

The forum was chaired by Michael Liu, Leading Partner of Hylands National International Investment and Mergers & Acquisitions Committee and Senior Partner at Hylands' Beijing Office.

The forum began with an opening speech delivered by Michael Doyle, Senior Partner at Seri Manop & Doyle Law Firm. He warmly welcomed the lawyers from Hylands Law Firm and highlighted the significance of the collaboration between the 2 firms. Michael stated that this forum underscores the importance of working together to better serve clients investing in Thailand. The agenda of the forum covered many topics critical to clients, including foreign investment laws and regulations, estate planning, finance and banking, and intellectual property protection. In today’s increasingly globalized world, these areas are essential for fostering cross-border opportunities and providing comprehensive legal support. He concluded by wishing the forum great success.

The forum not only deepened the understanding and friendship between the legal communities of China and Thailand but also injected new momentum into the further development of the 2 countries' economic and trade relations. Both sides will continue to move forward together, addressing global economic challenges and achieving mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.
