ESG

ESG stands for environmental, social, and governance standards and refers to the business measures used by socially conscious investors and businesses. A decade ago, this topic was referred to as corporate social responsibility (CSR), which generally referred to measuring carbon footprints, socially responsive company policies, or ethical supply chains. Neither were a business objective nor were popular topics from socially responsible consumers. Today ESG is a regular focus for all businesses and often a requirement from investors, business partners, employees, and customers.
